In any design I strive to bring nature into the home. The large flat entry roof offers protection for guest arrival with a rain chain for the front garden. A large pivot door welcomes guests with a view of the linear fireplace anchoring the family room. The wood siding was brought inside and used as a sculptural and functional feature to display art, hidden coat closet and serving area for the bar. The dining room has glass sliding doors that pocket into the stone wall to open the front patio. The water features and the landscape provide tranquility and privacy for dining. A side courtyard was created to extend the indoor / outdoor family room and outdoor kitchen. The covered outdoor dining has a concealed screen which can be lowered allowing for a cross breeze into the home. Incorporating large glass doors into the courtyard created a relaxing space while still maintaining privacy from neighbors.
