This client is an avid collector of period furniture. Many of the spaces were designed around these pieces. The off-white interior walls and travertine floor provide a quiet backdrop to display these pieces. The old-world stone was used to juxtapose with the smooth cement panels. The color pallet evolved from the site with silvery aspen trunks to accent the exposed structure, sage for the low sloping roof and off white of the indigenous stone. This house has a balance between the surrounding environmental beauty, sustainable materials, high performance, and the client’s budget.
