Pure Design and Millie Aldrich created a casually elegant home that works for our lifestyle and the land where it is built. She spent many hours making sure she understood our needs and specific desires. Because of this there are many spectacular spaces and views throughout the home. We get to enjoy rustic elements that were melded to the modern mountain architecture. We truly enjoyed working with Millie. She is an innovative and creative designer. She had so much respect for the working relationship and was always communicating and listening to us even about the smallest of details. Millie was in constant contact with the builder which also made for a smooth progression from beginning to the final touches at the end. We love our one of a kind, gorgeous custom home.

The strongest compliment I can pay Pure Design and Millie Aldrich is to write that if we were to build another house, she would be the first (and only) architect we would contact. Her attention to detail and to the wishes and desires of her client perfectly support for her own naturally elegant design sense. She recognizes the client as the senior partner in the design process and is passionate about creating a design that both pleases the client and works architecturally. Her contributions during the building process are comprehensive. Even though we built a house to occupy full time (while living 1,000 miles away), we never once had any concern that our interests were being overlooked. Millie creates a beautifully designed, client-directed house, and ensures to the best of her powers that the house is as beautifully built as it is designed. She is simply the best.
One example of her consummate professionalism is her response when we called her halfway through the design process, from a deballage (big outdoor antique show) in southern France. We found the perfect chandelier and provided dimensions and digital photos and Millie raised the ceiling height to accommodate this piece. It wasn’t a hassle or expensive change: she handled the addition with the professionalism and grace that is her hallmark.

My husband and I searched for an Architect together. As a contractor he wanted someone who would design a well-built home with cost in mind and I wanted someone who could design a super cool house “like the ones I saw in magazines”. With Pure Design Studio we got both. Her artistic vision and attention to detail is amazing. Millie really knows how to listen, in designing our home she incorporated innovative design features while creating space that reflected our life style.
